Package versions and Cloud API versions are independent. The family has four separately installed packages:

The existing public package is convert-buddy-js 1.0.4. Its MIT license and API belong to that version; the scoped v2 examples target the published beta.

The upcoming converter v2 release uses @diakrio/converter in Node.js and @diakrio/converter/browser in browser bundles. Old-name forwarding packages have been removed from the candidate. Update imports and check stream/controller behavior against the v2 quickstart before upgrading.
Use only /v2/server/* from your backend and /v2/widget/* from the browser. There is no key-only fallback or v1 compatibility proxy. Replace the old Cloud client with ConvertBuddyWidgetClient, and replace importer apiKey and destinationUrl props with publishableKey and getSession.

Import schemas now use Zod locally and JSON Schema Draft 2020-12 in Cloud. Recreate legacy schema configurations before upgrading. verifyDeliverySignatureV1retains its independent protocol version. AI mapping uses explicitly enabled v2 mapping-suggestion endpoints with bounded samples and session or scoped server credentials; deterministic local mapping remains available.
Earlier MIT releases retain their rights. New SDK releases use the free application-use distribution license with private development source. Read the license and notices included with the version you install.
